Jenn Ski is a Massachusetts, USA-based artist
focusing mainly on digital and paper/acrylic
media. Her work brings together a mid-twentieth
century aesthetic with a modern design sense
to create art that is beautiffuly simple, yet rich,
complex and evocative.
Her present style evolved naturally from her
professional experience as a graphic designer.
Her composition, balance, use of texture and
color, shape distribution, etc., are all deliberately
chosen to make pieces that are viewer-centric:
creating an emotional connection between the
viewer and the artwork is the paramount
objective of her creative process.
Currently, her work revolves around what she
calls the "pod", an organic, plant-like
abstraction. She is tasked with giving her pods a
safe place in which to grow and evolve,
capturing snapshots of their life cycles as they
dance around the canvas and computer
screen. Simple shapes, colors and textures thus
come together to creat art that is truly more than
the sum of its parts.
