Fischer/Warnica Fine Art was established in 1997
by Tanya Fischer and Michael Warnica. Both
Tanya and Michael have Bachelor of Fine Art
degrees; Michael graduated in 1991 from the
University of Arizona in Tucson with a BFA
Illustration and Tanya graduated in 1995 from
Arcadia University outside of Philadelphia, Pa
with a BFA in Painting. While both Tanya and
Michael work on their own pieces and pursue
their individual artistic interests, the majority of
their artwork is collaborative. The collaboration
begins with a design idea and a vision of what
the final piece will look like. Michael finalizes the
design and starts the process by laying down
the necessary line work from which Tanya will
use as a foundation for the layers of paint. After
the painting is complete, Michael adds the
finishing touches. The success of Tanya and
Michael's collaboration is a result of both artist
using their strengths. Michael's illustration
background is represented in his eye for design
and detail. Tanya complements Michael's
tighter, more delicate method with her eye for
color and energetic painting quality. For Tanya,
art is about the process, the physical, mental
and emotional experience of creating and for
Michael, art is about the finding the right
technique, style and medium for each idea.
Collaborations do not come without
disagreements; the partnership works because
of a similar artistic vision, a willingness to
compromise and a desire to be successful.

In 2005 Fischer/Warnica original Plate pieces
were featured in a NETFLIX television ad and in
the Oscar Award Winner for Best Picture CRASH.
Followed in 2006 by an original Plate piece in

ALEX. Their artwork can be found at Hallmark
Cards' Corporate Headquarters, Toyota Motor
Corporation, Clairol, US Department of Army in
